Hi we were not given an IPA by the OR I was just given a NTC. My wife has lost her job and is not entitled to any benefits as she was not earning enough to pay NI contributions. So she has lost £240 a month pay. I rang the tax credits office and my TC have been increase slightly though less than what my wifes pay was so we are worse off.

Do I need to inform the OR of this or is it just when you income increases that you inform them.

Thanks

Mick

I would think that you would stay the same if you have no IPA. Just pay across your tax and that should be it.

One of the experts can confirm or otherwise.

The glimmer gets brighter all the time

You should inform the OR once you receive the increase in TC. If you don't have an IPA now then chances are this won't change.
