Hi there
We have agreed on BI with official receiver and now want to pay him but they state we need to send cheque. As we only have co-op cashminder we have no cheque books and no-one who can write one for us, any idea what other methods of payment we can use.
Also had letter yesterday from Land Registry saying IS have applied for a charge over property. Am I right in thinking that this is just until BI is transferred and the charge will them be removed?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,

As the Co-op to do you a counter cheque. There shouldn't be problem with that.

I didn't think that anyone was allowed to put a charge on your property once you had gone BR?

One of the experts will be along to help with that one.

hi Kallis

The OR can put a charge on property to protect their interest but no one else can, I just want it confirmed that it will be taken off after transfer. Also do the co-op charge for a counter cheque?

Thanks

It will be taken off afterwards, it gets put on to make sure you cant sell it in the meantime as the other persons solicitor should pick up on the restriction

Thanks for that.

I don't know if they charge or not. Give customer services a ring and ask them.

Will the OR not allow you to do a bank transfer?
