Hi All,
I would like to ask if you have been using credit cards to pay for shopping, paying various bills and generally robbing Peter to pay Paul and you suddenly lift your head out of the sand and petition for BR, how will this be looked upon by the OR?
Thanks.

I think that a lot of people have been in this position and as long as the OR can see that you haven't been spending it frivolously, that you will be ok.
I hope you have stopped using them now though.

As soon as were advised that BR was our best option, we stopped using the cards. We have used the money that we would have paid back to our cards to live on, and fund the BR fees. Until that moment we were still using them to live on and like other people robbing Peter to pay Paul. |

Thanks Charlie,
How long after you stopped payments to your creditors did they come chasing you?

Straight away, I have changed the phone number and wrote to all of my creditors informing them of my BR. Still getting letters everday and calls to my mobile, but I just ignore these. |

Good luck.

We don`t go to court until the last week in November, it seems they are very busy as we booked this in September. |

Wow that long before an appointment - sign of the times no doubt.
Good luck and let the forum know about your experience.

I was luck Croydon CC you can just turn up on the day no need to book an appointment, thankfully on the day my wife and I went there was only 2 others. So we had seen the DJ and got our paperwork by 11.30am. We was expecting alot of people to be there on that day. |
