in relation to my tax code post I believe i will be asked to pay 50 -70% of any excess income I have. Want to work my figures out so that i know if im potentially going to be made to do this or not. Posts suggest it will happen only if i have a suplus income of £100 or more.Is this weekly , fortnightly ,monthly etc.

For my income obviously i have my weekly earned wage , do they take tax credit as part of my income (child tax, childcare element of working tax and working tax itself - paid as a combined weekly payment)

Is child benefit part of my income £20 week for 1 child i get

And is child support agency (only £15 a week) seen as income.

Just so i know how to work my sums out

Thankyou
x

Hi, our IPA was worked out if we had more than £99 disposable income after all our bills then they would take a percentage towards an IPA, the £99 is per month.

Tax credits are taken into account but when I went BR child benefit was not.

Hi im not sure if CSA will be taken into account, I did not have to send in proof of expences other than my rent and council tax, I also had to send in my last 3 months pay slips.

They allow for more things than I expected, clothing, dentist, optical, prescriptions, domestic break, dry cleaning and some other things are all allowed.

I handed my forms into court, was made bankrupt and a couple of weeks later had my OR interview. It was a couple of weeks later after the OR looked at my income and out goings that I was informed I would have no IPA (which last 36 months) and do go up and down if you get one depending on circs.

so if i do my income and expendite myself as it currently stands i should get an idea if im at risk of having to pay one or not if im at or over the £100 a month surplus income.

If they say you dont have to pay one is that final or do they keep checking on you to see if your situ has changed ? how long would they keep checking on you for ?

Hi, I went BR in September, and the majority of my income is benefits and I also get child maintenance, the OR told me that because of the child maintenance he would have to look at the figures to see if I was eligible for an IPA. So I think they take everything into consideration. I have also read some posts on here where people have had their child benefit included in their income for IPA purposes.

All the best

Maintenance would be counted.
