I am currently bankrupt and what I would usually pay as tax is being paid to m ceditors through the court appointed solicitors. My question is.. If iI get a bonus through work whilst in Bankruptcy will they take all of it ?

Hi James,

From what I understand if it is a small amount, the OR will probably not be interested.

If, however it was a substantial amount, say high hundreds and above, then you must inform the ORs office and I guess they will then take a percentage.

I am sure an expert wil post and confirm.

Good luck and I hope you get to keep most of it - I am sure you have earnt it, Richard

You will need to inform the OR of any changes in income so even if it is a small amount (£100) then you are liable to declare this. As Housing has said a one-off small bonus would probably be kept but higher amounts would likely be taken.
